Nirvana Hope

Nirvana Hope, a singer/songwriter from the rolling prairies of Kansas, delivers emotional, quirky original music alongside 90s B-sides and alternative favorites. Her original material is a playful blend of alternative-folk and pop-rock, drawing inspiration from an array of musical genres and life experiences. Art and music filled her childhood home, sparking a curiosity that led her to pick up the guitar at around 8. After years of involvement with school bands and choirs, Nirvana set out to start performing solo gigs at local farmer’s markets at age 14 and fell in love with sharing music in such an intimate way. Her debut, "Unstuck," explores self-discovery in a constantly changing world, questioning reality and escaping the expected adult life. "REWIND," her second release, continues this journey of discovery, reflection, love, and growth. Nirvana was selected as a 2026 recipient of the Heartland Song Network Youth Grant, securing her a spot to perform in a Youth Songwriter Round at the 2026 KCFolk Festival. Nirvana has also appeared at many local festivals and showcases, such as KPR’s Songwriter Showcase, MIDFest, Frog Wizard Festival, the Switch Wicked Songwriter Showcase, and RockStock. Her mission is to share her organic, heartfelt music, connect with fellow creators, and spread the joy of art and wonder.

A Studio Session With Wildcat 91.9

"For the first time at Wildcat 91.9, students are teaming up to highlight local musicians through a series called "Studio Sessions," and to kick off the inaugural performance, Nirvana Hope was selected to break in the new studio. Nirvana Hope is a solo singer-songwriter based in Manhattan, Kansas, known for blending an alternative-folk foundation with bursts of energetic pop-rock in her original music. Originally from Kansas, she has become an emerging voice in the local scene through performances at events like Frog Wizard Festival and the Switch Wicked Summer Songwriters Series. At 20 years old, she is already building a regional presence, appearing in songwriter showcases and live session features such as Kansas Public Radio’s 105 Live. Her work highlights introspective lyricism, dynamic live performance, and a growing catalog of studio and live recordings available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music."

I couldn’t help but feel utterly captivated when watching Nirvana. Her performance and songwriting abilities possess the depth and maturity of an old soul, someone who has lived on Earth enough to be able to authentically convey the array of complex emotions each song portrays. Filling the intimate space of the Paisley Pear with a voice so thick with passion that the very walls of the building seemed to strain to contain it.
